I like the attitude u have and I guess u should be able to succeed in hospitality industry.
Since I don’t have any physical experience working in Chinese hospitality industry and US system over here is pretty different, one thing is always on the common. Success comes after great efforts. It seems so hard for college graduates to adjust their attitudes and perceptions of this industry. Actually I will say all these virtual “common sense or understanding“ based on ourselves.
Let me give u some ideas in my mind.
1. Do a SWOT analysis for yourself -- Strengh, Weakness, Opportunity and Treats.
I know u did already, then u should calculate the opportunity cost! I will say u have some great stuffs in your pocket, then u should utilize it!
2. Consider other family factors: your age, your parent’s perception toward that job, your family opportunity costs, etc
We are all individuals but we all have different obligations. One thing that many young kids never think about is how our family will suffer by our “wise or stupid“ decisions.
3. Make yourself a timeline.
Draw a timeline and tell yourself since I hold a college degree, then I should be able to do things differently. U should make yourself a plan and follow the big pictures. For example, u will accept an offer as Restaurant Waitress in a nice decent hotel and work for a year for building foundation and once u grasp and master all, then u should be able to challenge for higher postion. But I have to tell u that takes a long long long time, may be one year, maybe 10 years or maybe for ever!
Why? Because u didn’t put your knife on the right meat!!!!
4. Try to find out what is your knife and what is the right meat!!!!
Sorry! I have to write in English since I am replying this in my office having no Chinese input support.
Good luck for your career seeking!
