　　基板柱式接头处的柱接支撑面应为方形，且彼此完全接触。接头处允许接合点存在不超过1/16英寸（1.6毫米）的间隙，且不做其它处理要求。但需要满足AISC规范，且接合点有70%完全接触。若间隙超过1/16英寸（1.6毫米），且接触面积小于70%，则应使用非锥形钢垫板进行包裹。在嵌入垫护后，接触面积至少应达到70%。若安装期间发现不规则方柱接头，且未达到规范，那么应对其进行校正。

　　Bearing surfaces of column splices at baseplates shall be square and in full contact with each other. Gaps not exceeding 1/16 inch (1.6 mm) in a contact joint will be acceptable, with no additional work required at the joints, provided the vertical criteria of AISC are met and 70 percent of the joint is in full contact. If the gap exceeds 1/16 inch (1.6 mm) and there is less than 70 percent contact area, then the gap shall be packed with non-tapered steel shims. After shimming, a minimum of 70 percent of the joint shall be in contact. Out-of-square column connections discovered during erection, that exceed these limits, shall be corrected.
